“Critical thinker”, “team player”, and “authentic” are just some of the terms most often used to describe Dr. Nyali Taylor. As Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors, Dr. Taylor’s role is to advance the progression of this dynamic organization through active leadership and support of the Board’s membership. Twenty years of professional clinical experience, diplomacy, and faith guide her promotion of advocacy in and navigation through the New Jersey health systems.

Dr. Nyali Taylor is a first-generation American whose parents settled in Central New Jersey, raising her to honor faith, family, respect, and veracity. Utilizing those guiding tenets, Nyali reached for the American dream instilled in her: unencumbered choice and opportunity.

Her educational journey lead her to attend Rutgers University as a scholar-athlete, matriculate through a dual-degree program in Medicine and Master of Public Health at Drexel University; culminating in the completion of both General Surgery and Vascular Surgery training. Despite these academic pursuits, Nyali identifies her greatest accomplishment and joy as the genesis of her own family, becoming a mother to her two children.
Professionally, Dr. Taylor has served a varied complement of people from across the entire socioeconomic spectrum, communities, and countries over the past two decades. Her interests arise from the intersection of her surgical practice with experiences in policy, advocacy, and oversight capacities. This continues to fuel her passion and vision. Dr. Taylor’s clinical work has strengthened her resolve to provide quality care to everyone, specifically ensuring that disenfranchised or marginalized people are not overlooked. She has honed her focus to overcoming systemic gaps in our system of health.
