Marvin Owens Jr. is a multidisciplinary creative and emerging engineer whose talents span music, videography, and mechanical design. A lifelong pianist, he began playing classical and jazz piano at age seven, developing the discipline and creativity that continues to shape his work today.
Marvin discovered his passion for videography in middle school, where he spent several years studying film production and editing. That early interest grew into DragonStorm Productions, his own LLC, through which he creates marketing and storytelling videos for small businesses and community organizations.
Equally drawn to understanding how things work, Marvin has always enjoyed taking objects apart and rebuilding them.
That curiosity led him to pursue mechanical engineering through Seton Hall University’s 3+2 dualdegree program. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Physics at Seton Hall and is currently completing his Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology, with a focus on Manufacturing.
Marvin is especially fascinated by the inner workings of large-scale systems—aircrafts, robotics, and machinery—not for their size, but for the engineering that powers them. Upon graduating in 2027, he hopes to join a company where he can design tools, engines, and mechanical systems that support space travel, advanced technology, and nextgeneration transportation.
For the past four years, Marvin has been a resolute volunteer with All About You Healthcare Advocates, contributing to community health programs and, in the last two years, elevating the organization’s marketing through his videography and editing expertise. His work has helped AAYHA tell its story with clarity, creativity, and impact.
Outside of his academic and volunteer commitments, Marvin enjoys spending time with his friends and family, 3D animations, watching action films, producing videos, and playing piano. He is driven by a desire to create meaningful, innovative designs that improve both technology and the world around us.
