Friday, February 28th was a first for All About You Healthcare Advocates!! Under the leadership of Kathy Villacis, Director of Community Outreach, we partnered with the Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless for their community health fair hosted by the Elizabeth Public Library. The Health Fair provided health screenings, focused health education, and local referrals to resources. The Community Health Fair served 15 attendees primarily from the City of Elizabeth, NJ. This wonderfully diverse group of people represented Latino, Haitian, and American ethnicities as well as Hispanic, Black, and Caucasian racial groups. On Saturday, November 16, 2024, our team partnered with the New Jersey Department of Human Services’ Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired, through their Project Better Eye-health Services and Treatment (BEST), for a health fair in New Brunswick, NJ. The event was focused on providing comprehensive diabetes screenings to individuals in the community. The day was a huge success! The health fair saw an enthusiastic turnout, with attendees from Middlesex, Somerset, and Mercer counties. Over 90% of the individuals we served were uninsured, while the remainder were underinsured.
